Dental emergencies can happen anytime and anywhere without prior warning. Some dental emergencies can happen due to general neglect, such as severe dental infections due to improper oral hygiene. But dental emergencies can also happen because of accidents, sports injuries, falls, and other unforeseen circumstances. At Energy Dental, Dr. Laya Omranian treats a wide range of dental emergencies, such as knocked-out teeth, fractured teeth, sudden toothaches, impacted wisdom teeth, and more.

Common dental emergencies include…

Knocked-Out Teeth

Your tooth may get knocked out because of falls, injuries, or accidents. When your tooth is knocked out of the socket, please hold the tooth by the crown, rinse it clean (without scrubbing), and place it in an airtight container with some milk. If you bring the tooth to use promptly, and if its root isn’t damaged, we might be able to reattach the tooth.

Broken or Fractured Teeth

Dental trauma and injuries can lead to chipped, cracked, broken, or fractured teeth. Different types of dental cracks and damages necessitate different treatments. Minor cracks may require fillings, dental crowns, or root canals. However, if the fracture extends under the gum line, we may need to perform an emergency dental extraction. Please contact us without delay.

Sudden Toothaches

Sudden, painful toothaches can often be symptomatic of deeper dental problems that may have existed for weeks or months. If you experience debilitating toothaches, you may have dental infections or abscesses, necessitating root canals or dental extractions. Please contact our emergency dentists to identify and treat the root cause of your problems.

Dental Abscess

A dental abscess is a condition wherein pus forms inside a tooth, on the gums, or in the bone surrounding your teeth. This happens because of undetected and untreated bacterial infections, and, if left untreated, it can lead to numerous life-threatening conditions, such as strokes and heart conditions. If you have the signs and symptoms of a dental abscess, you must contact our emergency dentists immediately.

Impacted Wisdom Teeth

The wisdom teeth, also known as the third molars, are the final permanent teeth to erupt in your late teens or early twenties. They’re vestigial organs that don’t serve any function, and they often erupt at an angle that negatively affects your surrounding teeth and gums. You may need an emergency wisdom tooth extraction to protect your surrounding teeth and overall oral health.
